A Before Picture

A picture from this spring.


Its the Year to Proclaim Independence......

....from a life as a fat person. I'm going to do Weight Watchers. Its the best term plan for me. I'm going to make a plan. One hundred pounds before next Independence Day. Its doable, but a high goal. So I have to make sure every decision I make is one that will get me closer to that goal. It means if I want a glass of wine each evening, I need to plan for it. If I want to have a piece of cake, I need to plan for it. If I want a steak dinner on a special occasion....do you get the picture here? Its all about planning and learning as I go how to deal with different situations. No more excuses. It's Independence Day. I'll weigh in tomorrow morning.

Day Five - mixed feelings......

Well, so far, I've done pretty good on the Atkins thing with a few slip up bites here and there. I'm still going to keep going for at least the two weeks I set out to accomplish.

Burst Into Summer Challenge

I've had a pretty good eating day. About 10 m-n-m's tried to derail me but I got back on the straight and narrow. I also taste tested one bite of homemade onion rings I made.

A few updates.....

So, on the hair situation. I ended up going lighter with some blonde highlights. I am currently entertaining the thought of adding more.

I am now on day three of the Atkins diet. I am playing with the idea that this is how I lose weight, and Weight Watchers is how I maintain. The last time I went on Atkins, I lost about 15 pounds. I then kept it off with Weight Watchers. I just don't lose well on WW. Its just too.....free....or something. With Atkins, I lose, not only because I cut carbs, but because the options are more limited (especially right before payday) so it keeps me from eating things I normally wouldn't. With Weight Watchers I can justify it, using points until I don't have any left.

Sooo.....its going well so far. Other than being sick of eggs for breakfast, I'm doing ok with it. I'll update with my loss on Monday. I started out at 268.4 this Monday.

New hair.

I came to get my daughters hair cut and now I'm ready to go blonde. I've been thinking about it for a while. Talked to the stylist and now I'm ready. At least some major blonde highlights. Too bad the daughter doesn't want to sit here for two hours.

Lots of Reasons

So, here's the thing about diets. People go on diets for lots of reasons. Yes, health is a good one. But seriously? We want to look good. We want to make our ex's drool. And we want to live a great life. So. The first thing I'm going to do is list the reasons I REALLY want to lose weight.

1. I want to look good.
2. I want my ex to see what he's missing.
3. I want my boyfriend's ex to know he traded up.
4. I want to buy really cute clothes.
5. I want my kids to be proud of me.
6. I want to fit on rollercoasters easily.
7. I want to look more professional at work.

Now the question is how do I get there? I've done Atkins. I've done Weight Watchers. I've counted calories. I just don't know what to do.
